We are seeking a Financial Analyst to support our finance and operations teams to ensure compliance with Serco’s internal financial control procedures and policies.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide program management support and coordination to complex projects by using analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills.

  • Ensure compliance with all Serco internal control procedures and policies.

  • Compiles and analyzes contract and project level financial information on a timely basis.

  • Develops integrated revenue and expense analysis, projections, reports, and presentations.

  • Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.

  • Assist with the financial planning process, including preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.

  • Assist with monthly variance analysis and monitors financial performance against budget and forecast.Responsible for the cost accounting charging structure and maintenance.

  • Support time keeping systems and time reporting.

  • Track and monitor contract and project funding, including preparation of backlog reports.

  • Review contract billing documents and ensure compliance with contract requirements.

  • Monitor open accounts receivable, proactively manages slow payments, and resolve issues preventing timely payment of invoices.

  • Ensure all accounting requirements and deliverables are accurate and on time.

  • Support internal audit activities and initiatives.

  • Assist management with development and documentation of pricing estimates.

  • Ensure fixed assets are properly accounted for and tracked.

  • Assist management with other financial issues as required.

  • Performs other tasks as assigned.



  • A minimum of five years post work experience in an accounting/finance department is required.

  • A completed university degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required.

  • Enrollment or eligibility for enrollment with a Canada professional accounting body, CMA, CGA or CA is preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities is necessary.

  • Computer efficiencies in Microsoft Office and experience with computerized accounting software are required.Strong Excel skills are a must.

  • Qualified individual will possess strong organizational skills and have an understanding of financial organizations, functions, controls and procedures.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
