Continuous learning and development programs

At Serco Canada, we recognize that our success stems from our people. We identify our goals and objectives individually and then actively work together to meet them. We consider continuous personal and professional development a strategic, win-win investment.

We all have access to more than 3,000 courses through the 24x7 online Serco Business Academy. Through our elearning resources, you can maintain or earn a new certification or brush up on a specific skill. All employees can apply for these leadership and development opportunities.

Employee awards and recognition

A little show of appreciation can go a long way. We take every opportunity to recognize and celebrate when people go the extra mile and exceed expectations. Our multi-tiered reward and recognition program recognizes people for their outstanding contributions to our clients, to our communities, and to our company.

At the corporate level, there are awards to celebrate employees bringing our governing principles and values to life, demonstrating commitment to excellence, providing extraordinary levels of service, and celebrating anniversaries with the company. At the division level, there are awards for team achievement and employee of the year. At the departmental level, there are on-the-spot awards and gift cards administered by managers for outstanding contributions. Among peers, there is an award to recognize a colleague that goes above and beyond.

Charities and corporate social responsibility (CSR)

At Serco, we make a concerted effort to give back to our communities by organizing and participating in events and fundraisers, donation drives, and optional payroll deductions. Devoting our time, resources, and energy in this way allows us to interact with our coworkers and customers and build trust and respect. Every year, we raise thousands of dollars and volunteer hundreds of hours during and after regular business hours. Our main charity in Canada is Ronald McDonald House, although we also support other local, safety, and kids-related charities.
